Museums in Short is an audiovisual platform and an international award dedicated to short videos realized by museums. It is promoted by musil – museum of industry and labour of Brescia, in collaboration with EMA - European Museum Academy and FSK - Forum Slavic Cultures.
This year, 30 museums from 18 Countries participated to our initiative, all gathered in a freely accessible online platform: www.museumsinshort.eu
The nomination for the most voted video by the popular jury goes to “Heidi Bjørgan: Meet the Ceramicist Who Was Meant to Be a Footballer”, by Frode Bakken, for Bergen Art Museum (Norway).
The International Jury decided accorded a special mention to “Gilgamesh”, by Hossein Moradizadeh (Iran), for the outstanding aesthetic quality of the work.
The X Winner of Museums in Short is the video “Living in a digital world”, by Yiotis Vrantzas, for Noesis Science Centre & Technology Museum of Thessaloniki (Greece). This is the Jury’s Motivation:
“We all live in a digital world, we know it, but what does it really mean, living in a digital world? Yiotis Vrantzas and NOESIS - Science Centre & Technology Museum of Thessaloniki offer a powerful representation of human life in a world run by “0” and “1”. Love, art, dream, religion are seen in their contemporary, digital version: not an apology, nor a condemnation, this work appears as a serious and poetic reflexion on the impact of ITC on the everyday life of people. In this ultra-fast world, rhythm is slow; in an era of vivid colors, animation is in black and white - in short, a counter-story of our time, raising questions and sharing beauty”.
The winners receive a prize (an image of a rhodoid for animated film, from the audiovisual archive of MUSIL) and the invitation to Best in Heritage 2026, international event in Barcelona dedicated to excellence in museums and heritage.
