Nowadays museums aren’t only institutions, but they are living and multimedial spaces where tradition and innovation are closely connected. Short videos are the most common and, at the same time, the best way to communicate the life of contemporary museums.

From today, it’s time to tell your museum with a short video and to become a protagonist of the 6th edition of Museums in Short, the international contest promoted by musil – Museum of Industry and Labour, in collaboration with EMA - European Museum Academy and Forum of Slavic Cultures. The competition is open to short videos realized by / for / with museums.

49 museums from 20 European countries participated at the 5thedition of the Museums in Short Award – European contest for short videos produced by/for/with museums. The Jury – international group of museum, media and video professionals selected 12 finalists, divided in three categories: promotional (trailers communicating museums, their exhibitions or events),exhibits (short video realized for permanent or temporary exhibition) and storytelling (short narratives in video format – fictional documentaries, interviews, motion graphics, animations, etc.). “The final act – the award ceremony took place in Piran for the second time in a row, also with the assistance of the local partners. Forty-nine museums participated to the V edition of Museums in Short.

The Winners of each category will be decided by the members of the Jury, but... you can have your say: watch our shorts and choose your favourite by clicking on “vote for this video”. Each person can express only one preference.

Votation (available here) will be closed on 26th, August.

The most popular video will receive the Public Special Mention during the Museums in Short Ceremony in Piran on 31th August.
